Our nervous system and in particular the autonomic system plays a significant role in our emotion and physiological responses to stress and trauma.
A healthy nervous system responds to changes inside of us and in our outward surroundings and works to bring us into balance.
A nervous system that is taxed with heavy energies, unexpressed emotion, trauma often gets stuck ON in fight or flight.
Most people I work with get stuck ON in the flight response. Flight can show up in many ways: hiding, staying small, isolation, being quiet, not shining your LIGHT, not being authentic self, not speaking your truth, living an unfulfilling life experience, feeling stuck, frozen; paralyzed in life etc...
Getting stuck in fight or flight can also show up as anxiety, worry, panic, feeling restless, cannot get calm, being hyper vigilant or hyper active.
Always worrying that the sky is about to fall.
And then when you are stuck ON and any of the above becomes a chronic situation, it affects your whole life experience: relationships, career, health, well being, fun, enjoyment, love, romance, socializing, sharing your gifts and talents, intuition, self love, connection with God etc...
